Rocking Horse Ranch — April 7-9, 2017

It is that time of year again!  We are gathering up our blue jeans and our boots and headed for some springtime fun at the Rocking Horse Ranch. This is a perfect time to unwind after a cold winter! The smell of spring and the budding trees and flowers are all that is needed for a good refresher in the Hudson Valley. Horseback riding on the trails, an indoor water park, and so much more awaits you on April 7th for two nights and three all-inclusive days!

While there has been a price increase from the ranch, we are able to hold the price at last year’s level until February 1. After February 1, the cost will increase to $825 for an adult and child and $275 for additional children!

So, when are we going? April 7th  to 9th!

There will be crisp, fresh air, and plenty of outdoor activities to burn off steam. While we have not received the specifics yet, last year they had a wonderful outdoor picnic and tented celebration featuring regional wines (for the grown-ups)  apple cider, cheeses, and of course more food than you can imagine! We expect it to be nothing short of spectacular for hiking, trail rides, and especially visiting the Walkway Over The Hudson! 

Your weekend includes your room, meals, and all of your activities including:

* Children are from 3-15, all rooms in main lodge, pricing includes all taxes, fees, surcharges, etc. Children under 3 are free with a paying adult. Please call for any funky situations/pricing quotes, etc.

IMPORTANT: Deposits are fully refundable for any reason up until March 7, 2017. Any refund (partial or full) after that date will be assessed on an individual basis and is at the discretion of the ranch. Travel insurance is available.

If you went to the Ranch’s site, you will see a promotion for this weekend that looks mighty tasty! The promo says $269 per night per adult and $45 per kid. “Hmm…$696…why is Single Parent Travel ripping me off?”

Let’s break that down and cut through the advertising fluff, look at the asterisks, and put pen to paper (or finger to calculator), you will see how we can save you more than $300!  When you book directly with the Ranch, the rate quoted is a per night rate…based on double adult occupancy…in the Oklahoma building…and you need to add in tax and service fees.  For single parents, they offer a discount of 25% off the 2nd adult rate, so that $348 you hoped to pay per night rate is really $453.25! Multiply that by 2 nights and add in the resort fee (15%) and the New York State tax!  Whew! Our price is $810 versus their $1134–a 28% savings!

Our pricing is all up front and inclusive of all fees, supplements, taxes and includes larger rooms in the main lodge. All in all, it is because of our relationship. we can offer pricing this much lower! No surprises here!

We have room for 20 families.  Unless the ranch opens up more space for us, when they are gone, they are gone; so getting a deposit in will assure you a space.

PS–many have asked about check-in and check out.  You can arrive pretty much any time on Friday, but I’d say not too much before noon.  On Sunday, you can stay up to dinner time(dinner is not included), but we do ask that you vacate the room by about noon so they have a chance to clean it for the next weekend. The ranch has places to store your luggage and a room where you can change if needed–or you can put it in your car if you drove. If you are planning on taking a train or a bus into New Paltz or Poughkeepsie….we can make sure someone will meet you at the station to get you to and from the ranch. Just let me know!
