My Son & My Wallet Go To Prom
OK, I own my own tuxedo and the last time I rented one was in 1990 when I got married. Boy what a difference 20 years makes!
I told my son that I would cover the cost of renting his tux for the two (yes, count em two) proms he was attending with his girlfriend. I seem to recall a price about $49 in my mind, but figured that inflation had brought it up to about $79. Well, $200 dollars later…
Granted, it is for two events, but the basic event rental was $149 and they cut me a break since it was the same tux for the following weekend.
Senior year is getting to be very expensive! Just fair warning to parents!

That still has to be better than 2 prom dresses, nails, hair, shoes, jewelry for his date(s)!!! I love my boys!!!
Well, his GF goes to a different school so she can get away with one dress as well. But he is handling the tickets to the one prom, the transportation, his clothing, the flowers, etc. I am thinking the girls might be getting off easy! But hey they have the drama that boys don’t.
And the scary part is that I have 2 daughters right on his heels!
