Please Consider Helping Haiti

Your Donations Needed

It could have happened here. It could have been a hurricane, a tornado, or an earthquake. The people of Haiti are hurting and need our help after the devastating earthquake that shook the Caribbean nation on January 12, 2010.

The death toll is expected to be in the thousands and medical aid and assistance is drastically needed. We have chosen Doctors Without Borders as our relief organization and encourage our readers to make any donation no matter how small.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

Today, MSF provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need.

While it seems a world away, we need to be reminded that we are indeed one world. When you were young and fell down, mom or dad was there to pick you up. Now it is our collective turn to help pick up Haiti. They have fallen hard and need everything we can offer.

The following pictures (after the jump due to graphic nature) were sent to me by Haitifeed.com. They are graphic, but clearly show the need for assistance. Please give generously. You can donate by clicking the image up top, the link, or the image in the left column.

Just saw your email. Earlier today I made my donation to Doctors without Borders, posted a note on my blog and have retweeted their tweets as well. I usually donate annually to them anyway!

I agree with you that this is a worthwhile and trustworthy organization to donate money too.
    Have a great day!
