A Cautionary Tale

US Airways Almost Strands 11 Year Old In San Francisco

A good friend of mine, Chris Elliott, has posted a parent’s worst nightmare.  Chris is a travel columnist and was contacted when US Airways apparently stranded an 11 year old boy in San Francisco.

Ultimately it has a happy ending, but it is a cautionary tale to never, never trust a company with your most precious asset! They may offer great deals and convenient connections, but are they going to take care of your baby? There are companies that provide cheap airfare and excellent customer service, but it’s important to do some research before you book. Luckily, such a dramatic situation is rare. Can you imagine this boy being stranded 3000 miles from his parents with no money and no plane ticket home?

When traveling, make sure you account for ALL contingencies.
