Where in the world has Brenda been?

Well hello! 2018 turned out to be a tough year for me. I suffered a fall that year, fracturing my pelvis and lower back and am still doing physical therapy to get fully back to normal. My 2018 trips to Yellowstone National Park and Dubai got cancelled, but fortunately I had purchased travel insurance so my airfare and deposits were protected. My trips for the remainder of this year, 2019, will be family oriented. I spent the first week of June traveling to New Orleans and the Redneck Riviera with…

Where in the world is Brenda

My 2016 travels mostly focused on domestic destinations. In April a quick weekend trip to Disneyland and in May we returned to northern California and this time successfully enjoyed Yosemite National Park, which we missed a few years back due to the government shut down of national parks. We rode on several historic narrow gauge railroads in Colorado – great family fun! And stayed at a B& B where “Indiana Jones and the Final Crusade” was filmed. Denver is really popping as a tourist destination, and we now have a…

An Update From Brenda

The past few months has been a whirlwind of travel – my first trip to the Brazilian Amazon and an area called Recife, in the far northeast of Brazil, plus an inspection trip to Peru (my third trip to Machu Picchu and my first to the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, where I visited the floating islands, an incredible adventure/cultural experience.  In between I squeezed in some vacation time hiking the magnificent Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Park in Southern California.  Let’s dip into the culture and history behind these adventure destinations………

Brenda & The Grand Canyon

It is that time of year again to start thinking about national park vacations and day trips into state parks.   Last Thanksgiving I spent several days at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (my 3rd trip to the big canyon) and currently am taking a 4 session evening weather class at Denver University.    Although these two items seem unrelated, it immediately prompts me to think about taking precautions to avoid weather-related disasters when vacationing in national parks.  National and state parks seem such peaceful benign places, but they do
