Beaches Turks & Caicos 2013

For the 13th year, Single Parent Travel is returning to Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa from August 10 to 17, 2013! This will be out 13th trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos and it is guaranteed not to disappoint. Your vacation is ALL INCLUSIVE–leave the wallet at home and enjoy the sun, sand and surf. With the addition of the exclusive Italian Village (all suite and all concierge) there is something for everyone and a total of 16 restaurants–too many to sample them all, we are only there a week!

Of course we will have some SPT surprises along the way including a private welcoming reception, group activities and more!

Your week in paradise (based on the rooms we have blocked) will range from $4444 for a premium room. Pricing is for a parent and a child. Please call for pricing for more than one child. Airfare and insurance are optional and other room categories are available.

For more details and pricing, please download our flier with resort map (PDF) or give me a call at 888-277-8543!

To reserve your spot and guarantee your price, a $400 per room deposit is all it takes. It is fully refundable until June 15, 2013 when the balance is due. For anyone that has been to a Sandals or Beaches resort before, we can arrange for your Signature Guest discount on top of these prices. Just ask us and we can check into it for you!

And here is the warning—do not wait to hold your space. The resort WILL sell out. The Italian Village rooms will sell out faster. Your deposit is fully refundable for any reason up to June 15, 2013. And as long as there is space, we can change room categories at no charge. But by having the deposit down, you are assured that you will have your first choice of room!

Single Parent Travel has a unique relationship with Beaches and we are guaranteed to have the lowest prices available. For ease in reading the flier, we round up to the next dollar. We also monitor the pricing throughout the year and if there is a sale or a special promotion that applies to your trip, we will cancel it and re-book it on your behalf.

I hope you can join us this year, and please enjoy some of the photos taken from a past trip!

  1. Hi John, Which resort is better for a 4 and 6 yr old? Ochos Rios or Turks & Caicos? :)
    Thanks
    Cindy

    • Either is as good as the other. Both will have programs from the infant up through the teens including Sesame Street characters and all. The two are different in size–Turks is a LOT larger. Turks also has a fantastic beach. Ocho Rios has a small beach and it only spans the width of the property–no long walks on the beach! Jamaica is less expensive. The trip from the airport to the resort is about 20 minutes in Turks, yet 90 to 2 hours in Jamaica. But, the real difference is the “attitude” of the resort. The staff, service, and amenities will be similar. I use the analogy (and they hate this) of Turks being like the grandmom that has a ton of nice fragile things in the house and freaks out if the kids break out of a walk for fear they will be damaged. Jamaica is the laid back grandmom that has a tube of super-glue and knows they can glue something together if it breaks. Turks seems a bit more formal to me. Jamaica a LOT more casual.

      Does this help?

  2. Hi John, when is a good time to book airfare for this trip?

    • Airfare can be booked anytime. It usually does not begin to fluctuate until after the Middle of May and then it is based on capacity.

  3. Hi John,

Thanks for the info above, I sent you a couple of e-mails and left a message. I would like to get prices for the Turks and Caicos for me, my 6yr old and 4yr old for cheapest OCEANview room and also flights out of south florida (Miami or Palm Beach or Ft Lauderdale) direct :)
    Thank you!!
    Cindy

  4. Is there a group discussion board for those going so a “newbie” like myself can kinda get a feel for who is going and kid ages? I have a very active 10 (soon to be 11) year old who wants to make sure he has other people to hang out w/besides me…lol!!

    • Hi Cynthia–

I have not set up the private FB group just yet. However, this trip will typically attract the 7-14 crowd—about equally split between boys and girls. We do not take over the resort, so there is guaranteed to be other kids not part of our group.

  5. Hi John,

Do you know if there are any gluten-free meal options at Beaches? My daughter is allergic and it could make the all-inclusive component a little tricky.

    Thank you,

    Dawn

    • Hi Dawn–

Gluten free (and any other dietary restrictions) are not a problem. We just need to let them know in advance and I always recommend reminding them at the time. I woudl suggest that you use extra scrutiny on the buffets not so much for the food, but perhaps any cross contamination where a serving dish was used and might have traces–of course it depends on a senitivity. We have a young boy who is gluten free and has severe food allergies for many different foods and he will be accomodated.

  6. John–Hi there. I am a newly single mom of an 11 year old boy and 6 year old girl living near Houston, TX. Interested in taking an island vacation with my cousin (she is also newly single) and her 4-year old daughter. This sounds like fun. How many people typically go on one of these trips and do you get a better turnout in Jamaica or T&C?

    • Hi Kirsten–

Typically we have anywhere from 15 to 30 families on each trip–it is VERY dependent on the flaky economy. The turnout between the two is pretty equal but the Jamaica one I suspect may have a few less but it is still somewhat early. People are looking for tax returns!

  7. Hi Cynthia- I’m a 4X repeat to Turks. My son will be 9 & there is another mom going who has a son who will 10.The kids have a great time!!! They look forward to it every year now.

  8. Hi – What does the price include? Is the price per person. I have three children – 8,9 and 11 years old.

    Thanks -

    Karen

    • Hi Karen–

The price is 99% inclusive–meals, drinks, entertainments, tips, transfers, etc. Extras woudl include airfare, personal purchases, spa treatments, any off property tours or expenses. It is VERY easy to not have a bill when you leave and that is why I love it!

The pricing depends on the category of room but for the four of you, it woudl range from $5372 up to $7607

  9. This is going to be our 4th year to T and C, too…11 y.o. girl and 10 y.o. boy. Every year we have a blast. It’s one of the prettiest places on earth!

And it really is all inclusive! Unless you want to do any extras such as parasailing, horseback riding, etc. it’s possible not to spend an additional penny the entire week!

    • Hi John… just checking on airfare, Miaimi to turks & caicos for the trip in August .. I keep receiving e-mail solicitations from Beaches on airfare credit so though I would check in.. what is airfare running now? THANK YOU!

      • I am not sure which one you are seeing. If you can forward it to me that woudl help. I usually find that it does not apply to the dates or the resort. I did see one for Beaches Negril, which woudl not apply.

  10. Hello!
I am a 43 year old widow with two surviving children. My oldest child is 15- a son, and my youngest child is 11- a daughter. I lost my husband and one of our sons (our 10 year old son) on Labor Day of 2010 when our family was hit head-on by a young man who was driving too fast in the rain and passing other cars.

I have been trying to think of somewhere amazing to take my children this summer for a vacation. My children’s doctor took his family to Turks and Caicos and loved it! I have been thinking of trying to take them to Europe, as they have never been before. However, as a single parent, I am hesitant to join a family tour, and have me and my children feel possibly awkward around other traditional 2 parent families. I was so excited to find your single parent travel site today!

How much would it cost for me to bring my 2 children on your Turks and Caicos Vacation? We would like a second story or higher room. A room with an ocean view would be nice, also, but isn’t totally necessary. And I was wondering if I could even book our flights from San Antonio, TX to Turks and Caicos through y’all, as well. And wondered how much 3 round-trip flights would cost us?

Thank you for any information/tips that you may be able to offer me!
    -Kelly :)

    • Hi Kelly–

I am so sorry for your loss. There are many different categories of rooms, but to give you an idea, for the 3 of you in a standard room (2 double beds, private balcony, bath, etc. with a non-ocean view) the cost is $4948. If you shift to an ocean view (it is a somewhat distant ocean view) the cost is $5360. It does go up from there as well to a direct oceanfront room $6973. Give us a call or an email and we can explain all the options.

We can handle the air for you as well or you can buy it on your own or if you have any points, you can use them as well.

The neat thing about our trips is that we all are in the “end game” of being single parents, but we all got here by different roads–some divorced, some widowed, some single by choice, adoptive parents, and many more in between!

  11. Hi John,

Are babysitting services available? I am considering taking my 11 y/o son and a toddler. Also, how will the pricing differ if I include an 18 month old?

    thanks!

    • Hi Sage–

There is babysitting available but it is at an additional cost. They have a WONDERFUL kids club that is segmented by ages and the staff is wonderful and that is open from 9-9 and that is included. We also schedule a night where the kids are supervised (this is our group, not segmented by age) until late so the parents can go to the disco, piano bar, or just be with other adults sans kiddos! But true babysitting in your room is available as well. I am not sure of the rate, but I am guessing in the $5 per kid per hour range.

Children under 2 are free so there is no additional charge there. Under 2 can also “lap” on an airplane, but I have never been an advocate of that–I prefer to bring a car seat (familiar to the child) and buy them a seat. Everyone tends to do better in my experience!

  12. Hi John,

The e-mails from beaches about the flight credit are solicitations so my guess is they don’t apply tot he Aug trip anyhow.. , I have been checking flights the last couple of weeks and they have creped up some – closer to 600 ticket (mid afternoon nonstop MIA to Turks)- Is it best to get the flights through you as well with the trip? or get it on our own?
    Thanks!
    Cindy

  13. Hi, I’m looking t book a last minute trip with my 10 year old son from San Antonio. Is it still possible to get a room in one of the summer trips?

  14. Hello John, I am looking to take my son on one of your trips in 2014 to celebrate his 10th birthday in August. When will the 2014 trips start to be posted? I noticed the Turks & Caicos trip appeared to be posted last September. Thank you in advance.

    • Hoping to get them up by this week!I do not have pricing, but the 2 caribbean trips to Beaches will be 8-9 to 8-16 if you are looking to mark a calendar!

  15. John,

Is SCUBA diving available in Turks & Caicos? (I realize it would be an additional charge.) My 13 year old son was certified last year and I’d like for us to have the opportunity to dive while on vacation without it being a major ordeal.

    • Hi there—actually SCUBA is included. If you are certified, no issues. If not, there is a resort cert ($90) that you can take there. Ages 9 and up and equipment is included–granted if you are a SCUBA snob, you may want to bring your own. :)
