Beaches Turks & Caicos–August 16-23, 2009

Once again, Single Parent Travel is returning to the awesome beaches of Turks & Caicos! This will be out 4th trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos and it will not disappoint. Your vacation is ALL INCLUSIVE–leave the wallet at home and enjoy the sun, sand and surf. This year, the new Italian Village is open along with it’s pool, and enlarged water park for the kids (and us grown-ups who behave like kids), and more restaurants–a total of 10!

Of course we will have some SPT surprises along the way including a private welcoming reception, group activities and more!  This trip always runs out of space. A fully refundable deposit of $200 will guarantee your place on this trip with the final balance due July 1, 2009.

Pricing for an adult and a child begins at $2933. Airfare and insurance are additional. And for those in the northeast, an alert reader spotted a fantastic fare from Philadelphia.

  1. Hi John,

I tried a few years ago to book the trip but you were sold out. This year, I really want to come. A few questions:
Is Turks and Caicos high season for hurricans?
How long is the bus ride from the airport to the resort?
Is there a direct flight from montreal to Turks and Caicos?
Can you look into the airfare?
My son is 5, is can he be watched during the day?
Would you prefer I call you instead?
    Thanks, Anna

  2. Hi,

I am a sinlge parent and have been looking to market single parent travel from Montreal for years… John, do you work with travel agents in other countries to expand your groups with agent from other countries?

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks and have a Blessed Day!

    Ioanna

  3. I too am a travel agent, here in Maryland (like yourself). I was also wondering if you work with other travel agents in the area?? I have a lot of single parent friends and
acquaintences that would love to do some BUDGET-FRIENDLY traveling. Do any of your trips or cruises have a payment plan or is the total amount due in one lump sum??

I am a single mother to a very hyper-active soon to be 6 year old boy. I love to take him with me on any trips that I go on. A lot of the times I can’t afford to pay for him as if he were an adult so I end up cancelling the trip and staying home with him.

Are there any single parent deals on air-fare????

  4. HI LIllian–

At this point, we do not have a program to work with other agencies because we try to keep our costs as low as possible, there is not too much left to compensate a middle man. With that said, we are always looking for new readers and guests to join our trips, so I woudl love to talk and see if we might be able to find a way to work together.

We can and do make payment arrangements. I am a believer in holding onto your money as long as possible and will usually negotiate a more favorable final payment policy, but if someone wishes to make payments over a year (and I know how that can psychologically make it more “affordable”) we certainly can accommodate.

One of the premises we have at SPT is to seek out destinations, properties, and products that are truly single parent friendly. The presence of a kids club does not do it. So, we seek out experiences that will offer a break on the price for a child, or in the cases of the cruise lines (who are notoriously stingy and will not cut a break) we use our relationships and buying power to negotiate an amenity or on board credit o help offset the cost for our guests.

I have never seen a single parent deal on airfare. If the cruise lines are stingy, the airlines do not have a word. They try to screw their passengers and loyal customers any chance they get. We do work with consolidators and some companies that have bulk air contracts that will allow you to only pay a deposit initially and have the air price included in the final payment.

We do not price any of our trips with air because we draw from a national (and sometimes an international) audience. The price will vary from city to city, so it is nearly impossible to include the price. Sometimes with a European, African, or Asian trip, we will include the international air from a starting point in the US–usually New York’s JFK or DC’s Dulles.

  5. Hi,

I am a single Dad with a seven year old daughter looking to go on this trip. I did a little searching on Beaches website and found that the following week August 23-30 2009 is an all around 500.00 cheaper. I was wondering why. I like the whole idea of going on a trip that is cheaper for single parents but what is the benefit of going the week you are planning when the week after is 500.00 cheaper? I have been to beaches Turks and Caicos twice and would like to return and possibly go with singleparenttravel.net but the 500.00 in my pocket may force me to go the week after. Any advice for me? I am a rookie at this! Thanks Dominick

  6. Hi Dominick–

The main reason the week is scheduled when it is is because of the school calendars. Most schools return to school the week of August 24th. Texas and Florida return a lot earlier than that.

The reason for the price drop after our week is due to their even lower occupancy rates–Beaches is a family resort and with the kids in school–less people willing to travel. Plus it is getting into the more active part of hurricane season. Last year, we were a Saturday to Saturday trip, and this year we switched it to Sunday to Sunday because there was a rate difference between the two, so the resort is in their “shoulder” season.

And finally, we have negotiated a lower deposit requirement of $200 per booking (not per person) to hold the space.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at john at singleparenttravel.net or give me a call at 888-277-8543

  7. Hi John,

Is the trip to Beaches booked already? What type of accomodations does that include for the price? Are they children of the parents scheduled to play together?

    Thank you,
    Melissa
Single parent of a 5 year old

  8. We have several people already booked and will continue taking bookings until our allotment is sold out or the resort is sold out.

We do have special events for our group so the kids will have a chance to be together playing and also for dining at night if they want. Beaches has a terrific kids program for all ages and a spacial partnership with Sesame Place–so there are characters all around.

    John

  9. Hi – I am a single mom of two boys ages 5 and 7. I would like to join on of the trips i.e. this one or the Antigua one.
Can you tell me which one has more young children signed up?

    • Stephanie–both will have a lot of children on them. The Turks resort has a more extensive kids program and the partnership with Sesame Place, so there are likely to be more attraction for the younger set, but the watersports and the beaches are pretty equivalent. The average age of our kids is 7-14 ono all of our trips but there will certainly be those over and under.

The deposits are refundable till July 1 and $200 will hold it for you. Most of our bookings will come in iun the next month or so now that the holidays are over, taxes are paid, and thoughts can turn to summer vacatiosn

  10. Hi,
I want to have a nice holiday with my 9 years old daughter. I live in Turkey. What do you suggest me?

  11. I am interested in the beaches trip if still available. My daughter is 11 and I was wondering if there are other kids her age going. She is beyond the sesame street characters, but would enjoy the water sports and other activities.

    • Yes there are. Typically we are heavy in the 7-14 range and this is no exception. However, the space is beginning to tighten up a little bit, so please give us a call or an email if you are interested.
