Rocking Horse Ranch — March 27-29, 2009

By far, this is our favorite trip. It is a quick getaway and an easy drive from almost anywhere in the Northeast. Rocking Horse Ranch is (if you can believe it) a Dude Ranch in the lower Catskills of New York.

Our mostly inclusive weekend includes all meals beginning with dinner on Friday and ending with lunch on Sunday. Entetainment galore, unlimited trail rides, pony rides for the little guys, a small but quirky petting zoo, bonfire, indoor swimming pool , a massage and facial center for mom (dads don’t usually go for that stuff) and a brand spankin’ new Wii Room for the kids!

This trip always sells out and we always turn someone away. If you are interested, please get your refundable deposit in sooner–rather than later! Last time, I brought friends for my children and they are all looking forward to coming back!

    My 5 year old daughter and I had such a good time on the last trip we have decided to go up for this President’s weekend. It won’t be the same without the SPT community but I thought I would post this and see if anyone was interested or planning a trip. We will be there from Saturday 2/14 throught Monday 2/16.     I discovered the Great Wolf Lodge (greatwolflodge.com) in Pocono Mtns, PA which is an indoor water park, and it seems like a great family destination for a future trip, as an alternative to Rocking Horse Ranch.

    Hi there Jeanne….. I would love to plan a trip there in the future if you are interested. I have a 7 year old boy and its my first year as a single parent… I would love to have another single parent family to plan a trip with!
