Vacation Share Anyone?

One of our adventurous single moms is looking for another adventurous single to join her on a wonderful trip to Costa Rica this winter.  Lisa writes:

Here are some of the details for my trip to Costa Rica over Presidents week vacation.
I am flying from NY on February 17th to Liberia Airport and spending 3 nights at an Arenal Hotel (Volcano region)- Tabicon Lodge, then traveling to Grand Papagayo By Occidental in Guanacaste for 3 nights from 2/20-2/23.  I am most likely going to book a white water rafting day trip, zip line thru the rain forest and  horseback riding but have not booked those things yet.  This trip is definitely geared a little more towards parents with older children and is great for the adventure and eco interested traveler.  Obviously passports are also needed and must be valid 6 months after travel dates

If anyone is interested in maybe joining Lisa, leave a comment below or send me an email at john@singleparentravel.net and I will put the two of you in touch!

I would definately go -except my daughter is only 3 1/2. You sound like you are just as adventurous as I am – we would probably travel well together. Any solution?

    Hi Lisa,

My daughter is five but possibly mature enough to handle this depending on the difficulty of the rapids. We have gone white water rafting several times on the delware and it has worked out very well. How old are your children and what is the cost of this trip.

What a really great idea this post is! Lisa, I hope you find someone to meet up with. That sounds like so much fun. Unfortunately I’ll be vacationed out at that point. I did my first zip lining in Costa Rica. 😉

Lisa, I did a similar trip to Arenal and then Manuel Antonio with my daughter 2 years ago when she was 6. It was fantastic! We are headed to Belize this winter break.

Hello, I am travelling w/ my son to Guatemala City on 2/11 and have an itinerary that takes us from Guatemala to belize City of 2/25. If any other parents are interested in joining up–please let me know and I will email you the itinerary. I have lived for a short time in Belize back in 1999, so for me, it is all about re-connecting w/ the wonderful adventure and relaxation i enjoyed while in that region. Thank You,

Oh, and my son is 7 almost 8, and enjoys travel

Hi. Sounds wonderful. We did something like that two years ago in Ecuador. I wish I could go. My kids (5&8) would absolutely love it, but we’re planning on a big trip to either Costa Rica or Guatemala during the summer, maybe take a family language course. Anyone interested?

I would love to hear about your travels when you get back.

  7. John says:

    Kelly,
I will be in Guatemala with my 8 year son old Feb 15 to 22. Do you know if a certified letter is required from the other parent when entering the country? I’ve had issues with this in the past in other countries. Our itinerary is Antigua, Tikal, San Marcos.

All this information sounds fantastic. I was looking for a spt trip for our April break but there aren’t any matching dates with our school break. Anybody travelling between April 9 and April 19th? My daughter is 5. – Jeanne

Also, we will be at Rocking Horse Ranch this weekend 2/14-2/17 if anyone else is interested in a short jaunt.
